Role Overview

We are looking for a Partnership Manager to join our team in Shanghai. This is a hybrid role spanning partnership development and event operations, supporting key commercial projects across football, golf and other major sports events.

The role will work closely with regional and local teams to support business development efforts, develop client-facing materials, coordinate internal stakeholders and contribute to the successful planning and delivery of partnership campaigns and event activations. The Partnership Manager will also act as an important liaison across markets, helping to drive collaboration and ensure projects move forward effectively.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity supporting SPORTFIVE’s business in China through our designated local employment structure.

 

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Development & Commercial Support

  • Support the development of sales proposals, pitch presentations and other commercial materials for clients and prospects
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, market leads and potential partnership prospects
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, supporting the team in moving opportunities through to conversion
  • Conduct market and client research to support partnership strategy and commercial planning
  • Assist in preparing partnership concepts, sponsorship packages and tailored client solutions

 

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a liaison between regional and local teams, ensuring strong communication and collaboration across different markets
  • Coordinate with internal departments including sales, marketing, content, digital and operations to support project execution
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, clients, agencies, rights holders and event partners where required
  • Support internal alignment on timelines, deliverables and project priorities

 

Event Operations & Activation Support

  • Support the planning and delivery of events, sponsorship activations and other commercial projects
  • Assist in coordinating event logistics, partner requirements and operational execution on the ground
  • Help ensure partnership deliverables are fulfilled to a high standard and within agreed timelines
  • Support post-event wrap-up, reporting and internal debrief processes

 

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate client and opportunity records in CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Track client interactions, commercial progress and project updates in a timely manner
  • Support reporting on pipeline status, partnership activity and project outcomes
  • Ensure commercial documentation and internal records are properly maintained

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Communications or a related discipline
  • Around 5 years of relevant experience in partnerships, sales support, account management, event operations or sports marketing
  • Experience supporting commercial projects, client proposals and cross-functional coordination
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence working across teams and stakeholders in different markets
  • Commercially minded, proactive and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is preferred
  • Fluency in Mandarin and strong working proficiency in English are required
  • Passion for sport and an interest in the sports business industry will be an advantage
