Overview of Position:
We are seeking a motivated Commercial Partnerships Sales Manager to join our SPORTFIVE APAC team. Based in Singapore, you will generate new brand partnerships by identifying commercial opportunities, developing tailored proposals and securing sponsorship deals across SPORTFIVE’s portfolio of sports assets.
Your primary focus will be Southeast Asia and the ASEAN United FC portfolio. You will also work with the broader APAC team and Global Sales Organisation (GSO) to connect regional and international brands with SPORTFIVE-owned or represented assets. The role requires a strategic, consultative sales approach and a strong understanding of how sports partnerships support brands’ business and marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure sponsorship partnerships with brands headquartered in Southeast Asia and the wider APAC region, with a primary focus on ASEAN United FC: the Hyundai Cup, MSIG Serenity Cup, Shopee Cup and ASEAN United U23s Championship.
- Connect international brands with a growing presence in APAC to relevant SPORTFIVE-owned or represented assets.
- Support GSO sales efforts in APAC across priority international assets. The 2026 portfolio includes Borussia Dortmund training kit, global and regional partnerships; EAFC in-game advertising; Formula 1 team partnerships; leading European football clubs; and NBA team deals involving the Celtics, Mavericks, Bulls, Heat and Raptors.
- Develop prospect lists using market trends and an understanding of brand marketing across Southeast Asia and APAC to identify relevant partnership opportunities.
- Build relationships with prospective clients through calls, email, LinkedIn, networking events and meetings, and maintain an active pipeline of brand prospects and key decision makers.
- Lead commercial partnership discussions, including tailored proposal development, pitch presentations and negotiation of commercial terms.
- Negotiate marketing partnership contracts with and on behalf of rights holders across the portfolio.
- Contribute to go-to-market strategies for SPORTFIVE assets, maximising cash sponsorship revenue and value-in-kind partnerships where required.
- Work collaboratively with the SPORTFIVE APAC team to meet and exceed individual and team revenue growth targets.
Qualification/Requirements:
- A sales and marketing professional with 3–5 years of relevant experience or more, and a proven track record of generating revenue through partnership sales, ideally within sport.
- Strong strategic and consultative sales skills, with the ability to develop customised partnerships that address clients’ business needs and objectives.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand SPORTFIVE’s sports assets and translate their benefits into compelling brand partnership opportunities.
- The ability to build and expand a network of brand contacts and develop strong, reliable relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with confidence preparing and delivering high-quality pitches to senior decision makers.
- The ability to prioritise multiple workstreams in a demanding, time-sensitive environment.
- A collaborative, self-motivated approach, with a willingness to lead by example, learn and develop a career in the sports business with SPORTFIVE.
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese, together with experience working with Chinese companies in China and/or across the region, would be an advantage. Alternatively, fluency in Japanese with equivalent experience working with Japanese companies would be advantageous.
- For candidates requiring a Singapore Employment Pass, full-time employment is subject to obtaining the pass through SPORTFIVE.
