Role Overview:
As the Social Media Manager, you will lead the development and execution of ASEAN United FC's social media strategy across multiple markets and tournaments. Your goal is to grow ASEAN United FC into the premier football marketing platform in the region—one that drives fan growth, delivers best-in-class engagement, and connects brands and sponsors directly with ASEAN football fans.
This role oversees ASEAN United FC's Main English account and coordinates with local agencies for Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. You will be responsible for setting the content calendar, leading campaigns, managing performance, and ensuring localised execution. Social content must be designed to drive fans through a seamless journey across ASEAN United FC's digital ecosystem—including social media, the official website, and CRM.
You will also play a hands-on role in content capture and post-production, including on-site filming, editing, and publishing across tournaments and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy and calendar across ASEAN United FC's digital channels.
- Manage the Main English account (global) and oversee execution across local market accounts (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia).
- Ensure all social content supports the fan journey—driving traffic, engagement, and conversion across platforms and onto the ASEAN United FC website.
- Coordinate with agencies and local vendors to maintain quality, relevance, and timeliness of content.
Content Creation & Engagement
- Deliver compelling fan engagement campaigns that reflect the energy and diversity of ASEAN football.
- Create and publish engaging multimedia content, including reels, stories, interviews, and matchday updates.
- Lead on-site content capture and filming during matches, press events, and tournaments.
- Edit and produce content with quick turnaround, ensuring platform relevance and brand consistency.
Performance & Reporting
- Track and analyze key social KPls including growth, engagement, reach, and web traffic conversion.
- Use analytics tools and platform insights to inform content direction and campaign performance.
- Generate monthly performance reports with actionable insights for optimization.
Sponsorship & Amplification
- Work with the Brand Partnerships team to integrate sponsors into content plans and ensure entitlements are creatively delivered.
- Collaborate with broadcasters, clubs, players, and teams to co-create content and drive cross-platform exposure.
Team & Vendor Management
- Brief and manage regional content creators, freelancers, and local social agencies for market-specific delivery.
- Provide creative direction, brand guidance, and feedback for brand consistent quality and execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure content aligns with broader campaign and digital goals.
- Support brand marketing initiatives with content amplification and integrated planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing social media platforms, preferably in sports, media, or entertainment.
- Strong knowledge and genuine interest in football is a must—deep familiarity with ASEAN football is highly preferred.
- Experience managing regional social accounts and overseeing localized execution across Southeast Asia.
- Proven skills in content creation, filming, and editing using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Lightroom, and Canva.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (lnstagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, YouTube) and tools (Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, etc.).
- Strong understanding of platform algorithms, content trends, and audience behavior.
- Data-driven mindset with experience in social media reporting and analytics.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and live events as required.
